2019 Nissan Rogue Engine Specs Review
When we look under the hood of the 2019 Rogue, we discover a high-powered engine that doesn’t shy away from hard work. This model sports a 2.5L I-4 engine that generates 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque.
It also gets an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 26 MPG city and 33 MPG highway when equipped with a front-wheel drivetrain (FWD).1 This level of efficiency is possible, in part, due to the Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission® (CVT).
Unlike an automatic transmission, which has designated gears, the CVT provides nearly infinite transitions between its lowest and highest points to optimize performance and efficiency.
Driving Technologies in the 2019 Rogue
In addition to maximizing drivability with its powertrain, the 2019 Nissan Rogue includes several driving technologies that are designed to make your drives feel smooth and seamless.
For example, available Active Ride Control actively adjusts your suspension to lessen the effects of bumpy roadways on passengers inside the cabin. This is especially useful if you have kids in the back seat trying to focus on homework during the drive home from school.
Other driving technologies available include Intelligent Trace Control which smooths out your cornering through automatic strategic braking. It also has an available Intelligent AWD (all-wheel drive) system that actively monitors your driving conditions and automatically redistributes torque among all four wheels to help you gain a better grip on the road.
Dimensions and Seating Inside the Nissan Rogue
When you check out the Rogue interior, you’ll find that there’s a lot of space to play with. In total, you can seat five passengers between the two rows and stretch out in 105.8 cubic feet of passenger volume. If all five seats are full, you’ll have 39.3 cubic feet of trunk space for baseball equipment, dance bags, and golf clubs.
Need even more space? Fold down the second row and make the most of all 70 cubic feet of cargo space. This is ideal for hauling materials for your next home improvement project or taking your trusty 10-speed to the East Bay Bike Path.
Smart Safety Features
To help you be more aware of your surroundings while out on the road, the Rogue also makes several smart safety features available as part of the Nissan Intelligent Mobility™—Safety Shield 360o suite.
This includes features like:
- Rear Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
- Blind Spot Warning
- Lane Departure Warning
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- High Beam Assist
Nissan ProPILOT Assist™ is also available to help you out during long car trips. To utilize this feature, set your preferred highway cruising speed. If you approach slower-moving traffic, your Rogue will automatically adjust your speed to a safe following distance. This includes bringing you to a halt during standstill traffic and starting you back up again when it gets moving.
